Costamp Group continues to innovate and forge new paths in the world of foundry and stamping. We are proud to introduce LPF technology (Low Pressure Forging), a groundbreaking process that is set to transform the production of high-quality structural components in aluminum alloys.

LPF is the result of an internal research and development project, carried out in collaboration with Idra, and designed to meet the evolving needs of the market: components that are stronger, lighter, and produced with shorter cycle times compared to traditional technologies.

This achievement is made possible by a process that combines low-pressure die filling (around 1 bar) with high-pressure forging (up to 1200 bar) during the metal solidification phase.

At the core of the LPF innovation is this unique dual-phase approach: compared to traditional Low Pressure (LP) or High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) processes, LPF offers mechanical properties comparable to forging and greater design freedom, while maintaining competitive costs and significantly reducing cycle times.

A concrete investment for the future

Since 2020, Costamp Group has been operating a 600-ton prototype LPF machine. Today, a brand-new 2000-ton machine is fully operational and available for trials, sampling, pre-series, and mass production.

The technology is perfectly suited for strategic and rapidly evolving sectors such as automotive suspension and chassis components, large-diameter wheels, motorbike forks, and all applications where light weight, strength, and dimensional accuracy are key.
LPF also offers a promising alternative for parts traditionally manufactured through hot forging, with the goal of optimizing production costs without compromising on quality.

A unique approach and a strategic partnership

Through an exclusive partnership, Costamp is the sole supplier of LPF dies, while Idra manufactures the LPF machines. This synergy enables us to support customers throughout the entire development process, from the initial concept to industrial production.

With LPF, Costamp Group is not just innovating, we are shaping the future of aluminum component manufacturing, offering tailored solutions to meet the demands of tomorrow’s industry.
